Planning:
Before we started to even consider filming we needed to think about what we wanted to do for our shoot. Lara and i thought up a few ideas which we thought would be able to show off the different necessities of the preliminary task and finally decided on the storyline of an affair. We picked this one as we thought it would be the most exciting to watch as its a controversial topic within society, but also thought it would be a fun one to film. After we'd chosen our topic we had to consider what each character would wear and their make-up if any; where we would have them located and who we wanted to play the characters roles.
Location:
we had three main ideas, one: in bed two: in a living room three: having breakfast 'the morning after' we decided on our first idea, we did this as we thought as it is only a short film it would be most apparent to the viewer what the nature of the film was.
Clothing and make up:
-Wife: we really want her to look as innocent and as pure as possible so we want her in all white as it has the connotation of purity and we decided that she won't have any make-up on to also give the innocent persona swell as having her hair tied up in a messy bun.
-Mistress: As she's also in the bed we thought we'd try and make her look topless too but as she is only an actress we will have her wearing an off the shoulder top to keep her decent, for her make-up we want her to look fake, so with lots of foundation and bright red lipstick with heavy dark eye make-up to show the contrast with the wife's look.
Who:
-Husband: we want someone with dark hair, who is physically fit and has a 'cheeky' looking face to make him look like a stereotypical 'player'
-Wife: we want a woman who's got blond hair as when you see a woman with blond hair and wearing white it goes under the connotation of innocence and purity again
-Mistress: dark long hair with a prominent facial feature for example, big lips or a mole. As you can associate dark hair with danger.
Filming:
Editing:
Ive used iMovie before as I've made family films with my dad so i didn't really have any trouble with the editing, it all went together fairly smoothy except the last frame. It was handy that we'd filmed all of the dialogue from each angle so we just had to cut each frame we needed together without the actor being in a slightly different place or the camera angle being slightly off.
Final cut:
Our final cut came out almost perfect, i think we got our camera angles spot on except in the last frame where the wife comes through the door, the camera was round the wrong way so when we came to edit it all together it didn't fit completely right, but luckily it still shows the match on match action.
